Turmeric has received a lot of attention in the past few years.

The reason has everything to do with the power of social media to undercut traditional pharmaceutical industry controlled media channels, along with the reality that the available published literature that has accumulated on turmeric’s health benefits is astoundingly vast. The open access database MEDLINE, for instance, now contains over 10,000 study abstracts on turmeric and/or its components, such as the polyphenol known as curcumin. Our intention at is to save you time looking through these thousands of studies by putting all the relevant ones to natural and integrative medicine in one spot. In the case of the burgeoning volume of turmeric and curcumin literature, that spot is our Turmeric Research dashboard.

David and Collet Verdict Website 500 x 280

No links to media that offer the truth. Virtually everything was an example of yellow journalism at its finest.

NHPPA is sharing a post from a Facebok page called, “Prayers for Ezekiel” on the day of sentencing, June 25, 2016. Visit, “Meet the Stephans” where you can learn more. David shares his personal message to everyone, and a remarkable thank you to Shawn Buckley. He writes, “I would love to begin by expressing my gratitude for our lawyer, Shawn Buckley. He has invested a great deal of time into serving Collet Stephan and I and ultimately helped to uncover so much hidden truth in regard to the passing of our son, Ezekiel. He is an upstanding human being that has been so gracious in the way that he has worked with us and has literally discounted hundreds of thousands of dollars off of our billing.”

There may be an opportunity for NHPPA to post something directly from Shawn in the future.

FDA Approves Aspire Assist Website 500 x 280

If you’re in the middle of eating lunch, you should probably stop reading this story. Health officials in the U.S. approved a quirky new weight loss device called AspireAssist that vacuums food right out of the stomach before meals are digested.

It’s incredibly controversial: while it’s meant to help those grappling with obesity, critics have called it “assisted bulimia.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the device, called AspireAssist, on Tuesday. Surgeons insert a tube in the stomach via a small incision in the abdomen. Then, a “skin-port” about the size of a poker chip is installed – that’s where users attach an external tube to flush food after mealtime.

Merck’s Former Doctor Predicts Gardasil Website 500 x 280

“It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine” – (source) Marica Angell. She is a physician and author, along with being the first woman to serve as editor-in-chief of The New England Journal of Medicine – regarded as one of the most prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals in the world.

Since the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Merck & Co.’s Gardasil vaccine in 2006, it has been surrounded by tremendous amounts of information, controversy and misinformation. This controversy has garnered much attention as people become more aware of the importance of paying attention to what goes into their bodies. It’s imperative that one examines a large body of evidence before believing what is seen on TV or stated on a radio advertisement, and people are slowly starting to wake up to this fact.

Bayer Proposes to Acquire Monsanto Website 500 x 280

Bayer AG has approached Monsanto Co. about a takeover that would fuse two of the world’s largest suppliers of crop seeds and pesticides, the companies said.

Details of the offer couldn’t be learned and it was unclear whether Monsanto would be receptive to it. Should there be a deal, it could be valued at more than $42 billion, which is Monsanto’s current market capitalization.

Monsanto in a statement confirmed the approach, reported earlier Wednesday by The Wall Street Journal, saying the company had received “an unsolicited, non-binding proposal” for a potential acquisition. Monsanto’s board of directors is reviewing the proposal, and the company said there was no assurance a deal would happen.
