CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS In this final 1:06 minute video of a 21-part series, Shawn Buckley explains Section 48 of the Charter of Health Freedom, “Consequential Amendments”. This section is an amendment to the existing Statutory Instruments Act which protects new laws from encroaching upon our rights as laid out by the Constitution and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The Charter of Health Freedom would be added to the list of documents that protect Canadians’ freedom. Going forward any law drafted would have to adhere to a baseline level of established rights so that no existing freedom can be infringed upon.

As the author of this standalone Act, Shawn Buckley makes clear the key features of each section. He breaks down the proposed legislation into language that everyone can understand.

We hope you have learned a lot about the Charter of Health Freedom through this series and encourage you to use these videos to explain the importance of this proposed document to others.
