THE LATEST NUMBER OF CANADIANS SUPPORTING THE CHARTER OF HEALTH FREEDOM BY SIGNING ITS PETITION IN A SHOW OF SOLIDARITY STANDS AT 93,759.
Only 6,241 signatures shy of 100,000, when it will become one of the largest federal petitions in Canadian history. Second only to the petition that asked for the creation of our Canadian Bill of Rights in 1949. The national mission to protect products and practitioners through this proposed law, is unwavering. It is neither a short, nor easy path, to have Parliament consider and adopt a new model of governing.
The Charter of Health Freedom still stands as the best legal framework from which to appropriately regulate natural and traditional medicines as well as practices. In 2015, to the ongoing detriment of the natural health product industry, practitioners and public, Health Canada’s regulations ceaselessly continue to threaten livelihoods and lives.
Watch for NHPPA’s exclusive practitioner campaign to reach an unprecedented goal, started by natural health product retailers and manufacturers in 2008. A recent call to the Clerk of Petitions at the House of Commons had him impressed with our numbers!
The Charter of Health Freedom is a reminder to exercise the rights and freedoms we enjoy as Canadians.
