Congratulate yourselves. It worked. Those of you who were part of the campaign that saw 320,000 election-issue postcards sent across Canada held a belief that we would be heard. We had four names on NHPPA’s “Do You Want My Vote” MP postcards. We’d like to draw your attention to number 3—Mr. Pierre Sabourin. He is, of course, one of the four bureaucrats at Health Canada responsible for the creation of the Self-Care Framework and the current program head. NHPPA received correspondence confirming that Mr. Sabourin has heard Shawn Buckley’s concerns echoed through our mass public action. An indescribable big thank you to all of you who took the time to mail the “Do You Want My Vote” postcards to your MP. Our deepest gratitude goes to those of you who took the extra step to call and email the bureaucrats listed on the back. A bow to the retailers and clinics who had the nerve to display the cards and educate their staff.
