Charter of Health Freedom Petition Update Mar 8/12

Thanks to all of you who have been sending your completed petition sheets to our new Ontario address, they have been arriving safely, as have the redirected pages from BC. The counting continues, and we are delighted to update you with a very exciting milestone.

As of today, the NHPPA has 85,490 petition signatures.

Since the launch of the Charter of Health Freedom on September 10 2008, the NHPPA has aimed to make the petition in its support the largest in Canadian history. 3 million signatures is our goal, that’s 10% of our nation’s population. And we’re confident that this number is achievable because of concerned Canadians like you.

But where do we stand, what benchmark are we trying to exceed?

CANADA’S LARGEST FEDERAL PETITIONS

  • The largest single petition to be presented to the House of Commons in Ottawa in the last 5 years was for the Employment Insurance Program for the extension of medical benefits. This petition had a total of 85,421 signatures.

With 85,490 signatures we have already created the largest federal petition the Canadian government has seen since Feb 19 2007!

  • The largest petition in the last 15 years was a series of related petitions against Child Pornography. This series totaled 96,065 signatures.
We are 89% of the way towards the largest federal petition in 15 years. But, we know that Canadians are so incensed at the loss of their rights and freedoms that we can aim to top the largest petition in Canadian history.
  • We want to collect more signatures than the 625,510, presented on Feb 9 1949, regarding the creation of a Bill of Rights!
Here are two ways for you can make a difference:

1) If you haven’t already, CLICK HERE to download a printable version of the Charter of Health Freedom petition. Then get your family, friends, colleagues, classmates and customers to sign the petition. The NHPPA is collecting the completed petitions so send them to this address: 5070 Fountain Street North, Breslau, ON N0B 1M0.

2) Within the next month, download a printable copy of the Charter of Health Freedom itself and send or take it to your Member of Parliament. The next campaign we will be rolling out will require that your MP understands the Charter. Add a note that you will be following up in a few weeks to seek your MP’s thoughts. Be persistent! We are actively seeking an MP to present the petition to parliament…and this will create huge grass-roots popularity.
