On December 7, 2022, Shawn Buckley joined Ted Kuntz, President of Vaccine Choice Canada (VCC) for an important discussion. VCC is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit society founded in June 2014 by families whose loved ones have suffered vaccine reactions and injuries. Their mission is to empower families to make educated, voluntary, and fully informed health care decisions when considering vaccination. VCC aims to educate all Canadians about the risks of vaccines, to protect the ethical and legal right of informed consent and bodily autonomy, and to safeguard a legal caregiver’s right to make medical decisions for their dependents and individuals under their care.
During this interview, Shawn exposed how the test for approving the COVID vaccines was dangerously weak and did not require proof of safety or efficacy. He also spoke about the upcoming Self-Care Framework, which will impose the chemical drug standards onto natural health products; consequently, further limiting our right to choose how we will prevent illness and treat illness when it occurs.
During a Q&A with the Ted Kuntz and the attendees topics ranged from raising the issue of vaccination within the Alberta Court of Appeal, natural health product (NHP) regulations, Health Canada’s Self-Care Framework, and federal censorship including Bill C-36. This was an attentive and engaged group with thoughtful questions.

- “The Crown agrees for the first trial nobody is even mentioning vaccination. And then the second trial nobody mentions vaccination. And yet, it goes to the Alberta Court of Appeal… and they come out with this decision, basically saying that it’s a factor that a court can use to find parents criminally responsible if they haven’t vaccinated their child.” (-1:01:19)
- “The last laugh is now going to be on the Alberta Court of Appeal, because now we can use that decision to charge parents criminally for vaccinating their children with the COVID-19 vaccine. Because we’re well past the point where any responsible parent could justify that.” (-1:01:39)
- “The door swings both ways in court decisions, and I don’t think they anticipated where the world was going to go with regards to vaccines.” (-1:00:20)
- “Health Canada doesn’t care about the law at all, unless they want to use it to hammer you.” (-52:18)
- “So the effect is that it is functionally illegal to treat a serious health condition in Canada with anything that didn’t have a patent. Well, that means we’re protecting intellectual property rights.” (-43:52)
- “[Under the proposed Self-Care Framework] they’re not going to allow claims for any condition for which you would have to go see a health care practitioner licensed by a province. Well, let’s think about that for a second: that’s not just medical doctors, that’s naturopaths, that’s herbalists, that’s chiropractors, that’s Traditional Chinese Practitioners. Any condition for which you would seek the advice of a health care practitioner licensed by a province; ‘no, no, no, that can’t be a Self-Care Product! You better go through the new drug approval process for that.'” (-37:13)
- “It’s specifically one of the concerns, that our access to truthful information is going to be severely circumscribed if we allow [the Self-Care Framework] to go through.” (-29:26)
- “What troubles me is, we have to have rule of law. Like it or not with court decisions, I don’t want Mad Max. I want, actually, the rule of law back where there’s no vigilante justice or anything like that, we just, in a very civilized way get the rule of law back.” (-24:00)
- “This is crazy. The state can basically take away our fundamental freedoms, but then all they have to do is drop that for a bit and get the court case dismissed — and then they can reimpose it again. That’s not justice. Who came up with this idea of mootness dealing with fundamental rights? So, we’re in a situation where the court hasn’t protected us.” (-22:22)
- “The problem is, and this was so coordinated, I think once they flicked that switch and said ‘we’re going to push some vaccine that, in theory, hasn’t been made, and then take away everyone’s rights in an effort to coerce everyone’—once they flicked that switch, [the government has] to go for broke, they can’t stop Because they either win or else they’re going to be in court with criminal charges. It’s either or. I’m not surprised. I think we’re going to see more desperation going forward.” (-20:18)
- “The most charitable thing we could say is that this was so severely misguided as to be criminal. Once the majority realizes that, I think we’re going to be fine. But, until then, I’m worried.” (-17:15)
- “Everyone realizes that something’s wrong. Regardless of where they are, they can just feel it. And I think they veil between the two worlds is thin because so many people are going to be passing over. You can talk to anyone about God right now, and they’ll have a conversation with you. When’s the last time that happened? Things are changing. Everyone knows that something is up.’ (-8:43)
- “I think we just have to be willing to lose things to stand up because we’re in a war for our rights, we’re in a war for our freedoms. Full stop.” (-8:00)
