From Allopathic to Natural Healing
Zoltan Rona

Dr. Zoltan Rona was a practicing medical doctor for 44 years, graduating from McGill University in 1977 and later earning a master’s in biochemistry and clinical nutrition at the University of Bridgeport. His career began in conventional medicine but shifted dramatically after realizing medical school taught nothing about nutrition or prevention. Inspired by mentors like Dr. John Barker, he explored vitamin E, thyroid treatments, antioxidants, and herbs, eventually becoming a leading advocate for integrative and natural approaches. He authored 12 books, including the *Encyclopedia of Natural Healing*, and treated hundreds of thousands of patients, emphasizing nutrition as the foundation of health.
In this interview, Dr. Rona details how nearly all chronic illnesses—cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, autoimmune disorders—are linked to nutritional deficiencies and toxic modern foods. He highlights the dangers of processed food, pesticides, sugar, and heavy metals, alongside the collapse of nutrients in today’s produce compared to a century ago. He stresses the essential role of nutrients like vitamin D, magnesium, and CoQ10 in preventing disease and recounts cases of recovery from conditions like Crohn’s, colitis, eczema, and even cancer with natural therapies. He contrasts the safety of supplements (no recorded deaths in decades) with the risks of pharmaceuticals, arguing that Health Canada censors natural solutions while protecting drug monopolies. Dr. Rona insists health care should be about helping, not profit, and urges Canadians to reclaim their right to choose natural health products before they are regulated out of reach.
