11 + million views. Not bad for a Swedish kid who developed her interest in climate change at nine years old, in the third grade. This video (2 minute watch) was picked up, without hesitation, by global media outlets. We share this post from A Years Project, a leading social media entity on climate change, “15-Year-Old Climate Activist Calls Out World Leaders for Inaction”. Greta Thunberg’s December 12, 2018 speech in Katowice, Poland at the UN Climate Change COP24 Conference offers a number of mic drops when addressing world leaders.

“You say you love your children above all else and yet you are stealing their future in front of their very eyes.”

“Until you start focusing on what needs to be done, rather than what’s politically possible, there is no hope. We cannot solve a crisis without treating it as a crisis.”

“Our biosphere is being sacrificed so that rich people in countries like mine can live in luxury.”

“We have come here to let you know that change is coming, whether you like it or not. The real power belongs to the people.”

Greta called for global school strikes every Friday, starting back on September 16, 2018, to unite children all over the world to have countries’ actions align with the Paris agreement. @GretaThunberg

This is a must watch and these articles are must reads. Incredible to learn about the personal story and intensity of this young girl.

NHPPA is sufficiently inspired.
