Express Yourself!

Did you know that Health Canada’s regulatory approach to natural health products (NHPs) is changing under the Self-Care Framework? The Self-Care Framework could impose new requirements, such as higher evidence standards for health claims and increased costs for businesses, which may limit the availability of NHPs. These excessive regulations restrict access to safe, effective NHPs and are made without transparency or public input.

Learn more about the Self-Care Framework by watching this short 5-minute video.

Health Canada’s policies, including those under the Self-Care Framework, could limit access to the natural health products millions of Canadians depend on. Many are concerned that these regulations could undermine their right to make informed decisions about their own bodies and health. While regulations are important to ensure product safety, it’s equally important to strike a balance that respects consumer choice and access. Canadians deserve a system that is transparent, inclusive, and responsive to their needs.

Your right to choose natural health products is under threat. Help us challenge Health Canada’s authority to make decisions about your health without your consent. We’re demanding answers: Who granted them the authority to make decisions about your health? And whose interests are they truly prioritizing—yours or theirs? Together, we can reclaim our health freedom and hold them accountable.

You can make a difference by reaching out directly to the bureaucrats and decision-makers driving these harmful policies. Send a letter to ministers, policy makers, and regulatory departments demanding transparency and an end to the Self-Care Framework. Your voice can help protect access to NHPs for all Canadians.

Take Action Today!

Let Health Canada know their overreach is unacceptable. There are two ways for you to get involved with NHPPA and insist Health Canada stop restricting your access to natural health products:

How To Send A Physical Letter To MPs

Copies of PDF form letters are available to download at the bottom of this page.

1. Print a copy of one of our MP letters, or draft your own.

We have provided four form letter options below.

However, if you have the capacity to write your own letter, in your own words, we strongly encourage you to do so. Personalized letters hold much more weight with our MPs.

2. Send your letter to the 12 members of the Standing Committee on Health.

The 12 Members of Parliament that make up the Standing Committee on Health represent all Canadians as they study issues that relate to health. You can find their contact information here:
Standing Committee on Health Members

At the link above, click the individual MP’s photo, and then select the “Contact” toggle to view their address.

3. Look up your MP’s constituency address.

It is important to send a letter to your MP at both their House of Commons address and their Constituency Office. You can find their Constituency Office here:
House of Commons Current Members of Parliament.

4. Send even more letters!

If you’re willing, you can also mail your letter to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health. Actually, you don’t have to stop mailing letters… you could even send your letter to all 338 MPs.
