Ever wondered how a bill becomes law in Canada?
We’re breaking it down for you in this video—and why now is a crucial moment for Bill C-368.
On Thursday November 28th, we made history! Thanks to immense pressure from Canadians, the Standing Committee on Health struck down damaging amendments and sent Bill C-368 back to the House of Commons for Third Reading.
Bill C-368 aims to repeal sections 500–504 of Bill C-47, which moved natural health products into the same regulatory category as pharmaceutical drugs.
If left unchallenged, these changes could lead to:
- Fewer natural health products on store shelves,
- Higher prices for consumers, and
- The closure of many small and medium-sized businesses unable to afford compliance costs.
Now, we need to keep the pressure on MPs as Bill C-368 moves through the Report Stage and Third Reading as it heads toward another vote. We must show MPs that Canadians want natural health products protected from over-regulation.
