It’s easier to prevent the implementation of Health Canada’s Self-Care Framework than it is to reverse it.
By 2025, this Framework aims to categorize natural health products as ‘therapeutic products’, alongside over-the-counter pharmaceuticals. This shift will subject the natural health industry to burdensome fees, fines, and excessive regulatory powers originally designed for pharmaceutical giants.
The consequences? Widespread loss of manufacturers, practitioners, and innovative products, limiting Canadians’ access to quality natural health options at affordable prices. Fortunately, Canadians are pushing back and making a difference!
