Recovering Chronic Fatigue Naturally
Dr. Marian Laderoute

Dr. Marian Laderoute is an immunologist with a PhD from the University of Alberta who worked for Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada, specializing in biologics, infectious disease risk, and xenotransplantation policy. After years of high-level scientific and regulatory work, she became unexpectedly disabled when an HCG injection triggered hemolytic uremic syndrome, a mini-stroke, and eventually chronic fatigue syndrome. Despite her deep medical background, conventional care offered no solutions. Suffering from severe insomnia, fatigue, brain fog, and depression, she was forced to nap during work breaks just to function, and even driving home required planned naps for safety. Her life became so limited that she contemplated suicide.
In this interview, Dr. Laderoute recounts how, after years of disability, a chance suggestion led her to try St. John’s Wort. Within one night, she slept soundly for the first time in two years. The herb restored her sleep, energy, and mental clarity, lifting her from despair and giving her life back. She highlights additional benefits she experienced, including improved skin health, weight management, and emotional balance. Today she lives normally thanks to this natural remedy. Her message to Ottawa is urgent: Health Canada must stop treating natural products as existential risks and instead regulate them as foods while enacting the Charter of Health Freedom. For her, access to natural remedies was literally the difference between life and death.
