When you communicate your concern over dwindling health freedom to your returning or newly-elected MP, short and straight-to-the-point statements like the ones in this podcast can really drive the message home.
The proposed changes to the Self-Care Framework ultimately render criminal the use of natural health products. Health Canada has proposed enormous $5,000,000 per day consequences for those manufacturers, retailers and practitioners found in violation of their regulations. Punishment for breaking rules is a standard occurrence in a civilized society, but when the restrictions themselves invalidate basic health freedom, the penalty is thoroughly questionable.
Canadian citizens elect government officials to represent them. MPs are meant to ensure their constituents are protected, heard and counted in larger policy discussions. Tell your MP what you think about the consequences of breaching drug laws that shouldn’t be there in the first place. Returning incumbent MPs may need a reminder. Newly elected MPs still require education on these issues. Write a letter and tell them how your life will be made worse if effective natural health products are removed from the shelf and treated as contraband.
