The August NHPPA Show Replay Now Available

Special guest Dr. Josh Prefontaine joined live from a campsite in Squamish

Shawn and Teresa were away from NHPPA HQ this month, so Jason Dahl and Eric Clegg took over the August show.

In a fascinating interview, Josh Prefontaine updates supporters in real-time about his 4-plus-year journey through traditional Chinese medicine.

Josh told us how he has finished his four-year doctorate program, moved to Lethbridge with his wife, and opened Forward Health and Vitality.

His practice centres on Chinese herbal medicine for chronic illness, with acupuncture used mainly for chronic pain. Josh spoke about the lack of a residency system in Canada, the day-to-day realities of launching a clinic, provincial differences in herbal regulation, and why practitioners must push back against federal overreach on natural health products.

He also shared what is working on his social media: clear talking-head videos and short educational clips that explain what Chinese herbs can do seem to do best.
