Understanding The Drug Model

The restrictive nature of the drug model stifles the growth of the natural health industry while promoting the development of pharmaceutical products.

The drug model has three parts:

  1. Define “drug” so broadly that it includes anything ingested for a health purpose.
  2. Make every drug illegal unless it has been approved by the government and granted a license.
  3. Make the approval process so expensive that only patented chemical drugs can receive a license.
