Their decision to move natural health products into the same category as pharmaceutical drugs will result in the loss of manufacturers, retailers, and products, stifled innovation, rising costs, and reduced access to natural health practitioners.
Since natural health products cannot be patented, it’s impossible for manufacturers to recover the initial costs associated with funding expensive clinical trials at the same caliber as pharmaceutical giants.
